Originally cultivated in the 1800s this unusual corn produces dark red kernels. Grown mainly as an ornamental now, its young 'baby' corns are edible, but becomes tougher when older. It was originaly dried, ground and used as a corn flour. Plants can grow up to 3 meters or more in height. Ready to harvest in around 100 days. Corns enjoy a well drained fertile soil and plenty of water!
